Principal Investigator
Dr Oscar Walsh is a medical doctor working as the PI at the new Altona North site. Oscar received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Monash University, as well as a Master of Public Health and a Master of Health Leadership and Management from the
University of New South Wales.
Professionally Oscar has previous experience in research working at Nucleus Network conducting Phase 1 to Phase 3 clinical trials across a broad range of therapeutic areas. Away from research, Oscar is a practicing General Practitioner and Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Personally, Oscar enjoys cooking, hiking, video games and reading.
He enjoys spending time with his two dogs and his partner and loves to travel, having visited over 30 countries.
Andrew Walker
Site Director
Andrew has more than ten years’ experience conducting pre-clinical medical research, and another 7 years of experience managing clinical trials. He is passionate about improving patient outcomes through scientific discovery.
Andrew holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, where he specialised in neural mechanisms that underpin reward-seeking behaviour.
After a short stint doing a post-doc at Seattle Children's Research Institute, he moved into the clinical trials space as a CRC at Nucleus Network.
From there, Andrew acted as a Clinical Project Manager at multiple sites and CROs, and most recently helped to establish the Project Management Department at Veritus Research.
